Logan County Public Library

About Us

We're the Logan County Public Library, a public library that has been dedicated to serving Russellville, KY, and the surrounding areas since 1967. Along with our collection of books, DVDs, microfilm, and newspapers, we offer a wide range of programs for children, teens, and adults, free notary services, free meeting spaces, and much more. Our mission is to provide the community with access to educational, recreational, and informational resources to foster lifelong learning. We strive to create a space where everyone can learn, explore, and connect. Stop by today and see all that we have to offer!

Our Story

Established in 1967, the Logan County Public Library has been committed to best serving Russellville, Kentucky, and neighboring areas through our wide range of programs, services, and collection of books, DVDs, newspapers and more. We pride ourselves in being a free space for our friends and neighbors in the community to hang out, learn, and simply exist without the worry of having to pay for something or be required of anything. We’re centered in a relatively small community in a big country, so we strive to be as connected and involved with our community as possible and be able to provide satisfying and rewarding services and experiences.

We’re excited to offer activities and programming for all ages, free notary services, and free meeting space to our guests and the community as a way of giving back and supporting their growth. We’re continuously adding to and updating our calendar to engage with everyone’s interests and desires. We encourage everyone to enjoy the library at their own leisure. Use the library computers for free to access the internet, build spreadsheets, use library databases, and more, or browse every genre of literature we have until you find a new favorite. You can complete any copying or faxing needs here, and free Wi-FI is available at all branches for your personal devices.

Our check-out lengths are 14 days for books, audiobooks, and non-fiction DVDs, and 7 days for fiction DVDs. We’re also proud to be a late fee-free library! If you know you won’t be able to bring an item back on time, just give us a quick call to avoid a possible lost item fee. Were you looking for an item and disappointed to find out we don’t have it? We can probably get it for you! You can request a book online and we’ll do our best to get it for you and keep you updated in the meantime.

Our staff is always readily available to help you locate items, assist with programs, or answer any general questions you may have. It’s our goal to help you make the most of your time here, and provide you with everything you may want or need. We’re a fairly lively library, but we do have quiet spaces available if you’re looking for a peaceful spot to work or finish a novel.

We also want to give a special shout-out to The Logan County Friends of the Library, a spectacular volunteer organization that over the years has provided book review programs, as well as authors and other speakers to enhance library programming. Equipment and furnishings have been purchased by the organization, such as a microfilm reader and the benches you’ll see in front of the library. The organization provides a tremendous amount of funding and support for the Summer Reading Program and other children through the annual dues and fundraisers the group puts on.

We hope you’ll come to see everything we have to offer; whether it be browsing our wide collection of books and DVDs to check out, or joining a new program to get involved in a fun and rewarding hobby. We’re conveniently located at 225 Armory Drive in Russellville, Kentucky, next to IGA behind Mcdonald's.
